Set up webisite or cart first ?

I am planning a major re-work of my website and I plan to add an open source shopping cart.

Do you think I am best to do the cart first and make the website look compatible with it.

Or should I do the website and then add the cart ?

You mean when to enable the cart or something else? You enable the cart once you have everything tested and functional.

Shopping carts typically include the website's associated pages and it's easier to manage content from the admin part of it than keeping multiple packages.
