Who do you consult with for website advice?

When questions come up about website branding, keyword choice, layout, flow, et cetera, whom do you turn to for advice?

I don't mean merely a coder that can create flashy widgets or a self-proclaimed SEO expert claiming #1 in 24 hours, I mean a person or group that can see the larger picture and offer advice based on experience and sound reasoning; someone willing to fully contemplate the variables of the products, branding, and market.

For example, I am trying to determine the best direction to take my website, now 14 months old. Should I revamp my key word strategy, open another store, or just rework the website's structure/flow?

When looking for someone to help with those questions, it's a matter of trust and experience. It doesn't sound like you're ready to hire an agency per se but you do need a pro. Finding one will take some time and research on your part. Have you looked through the membership here, or at LinkedIn, or Search Engine Land? Plenty of places to look for likely candidates that you could contact and begin a conversation with.
