Do You Use Affiliate Networks To Generate Sales?

Do you use affiliate networks (like linkshare or shareasale or some other ones) for getting sales?

And if so, do you have any best practices for small, niche focused businesses that won't be able to pay up front?

Just to update: A few people have suggested shareasale to me. Anyone have any experience with them?

We use ShareASale and have received some sales through them. We offer a datafeed and some banners for the affiliates to use. Most of the affiliates seem to be low quality websites and does not attract very much traffic thenmselves.

In 2011, sales thru ShareASale is extremely low. Perhaps all the affiliates got "Panadalized" by Google's new algo and they dropped out of sight from the serps.

There is some good feedback from some affiliates that are on shareasale, and they provide some advice on what they want from us merchants.
