I recently posted about an Ebay seller who deliberate failed to mention the problem with gear they sell. I left a negative, this was removed with in about 3 hours of posting after the seller asked to have it removed by Ebay. He even mocked my posting saying he was going to have it removed.

It was not rude etc it was factual, it had no withdrawal support from me and appears this guy does it on a regular basis.

How can they have this removed ?

The feedback system as a result is a waste of time.

I sell on eBay, and am not aware of the ability to remove negative feedback. I have two negative feedbacks in the last two years, and it would be beneficial to sellers to rig the feedback system to allow 100% positives. But I don't think it's that easy to do.

Can you answer these questions to provide us with additional background?:

Although your feedback was factual, did it use slang, hearsay, inappropriate words, or attempt to demean or slander the seller?

Did the seller need to file an unpaid item claim, e.g., did you not pay immediately?

Have you posted other negative feedback in the last 90 days? If so, how many times?

Did you provide the seller with a non-working or anonymous email address, or correspond with him with a different, working address?

If you answered "No" to all of these questions, then I can't provide any answers to what might have happened.

It works both ways, buyers need to be protected from rogue traders and traders need to be protected from nutters and sabotage by rivals.

I don't normally use eBay but my immediate reaction, like jwolthuis, is that your post triggered something that made eBay think it wasn't a genuine and valid complaint.

Although your feedback was factual, did it use slang, hearsay, inappropriate words, or attempt to demean or slander the seller? - Feeback - ' Deliberately Deceitful with the description - failed to mention damage'

Did the seller need to file an unpaid item claim, e.g., did you not pay immediately?

Have you posted other negative feedback in the last 90 days? If so, how many times? NO other negs posted at all

Did you provide the seller with a non-working or anonymous email address, or correspond with him with a different, working address? Same email as the registered account address. I ignored his ebay emails as he was abusive, i.e his 'legal team' was going to get me then ebay, he'll 'nip my nasty behaviour in its bud' and other less printable comments.

I have seen this done before, a workmate states that her husband has had negs removed 'loads of times' by ebay themselves.
