Lately I've been getting a lot of newbies looking to pop-up a website selling a subscription service. In most cases, just a few static info pages and a "subscribe" button to a checkout page. In some cases, a "gold" "silver" "bronze" type subscription options are desired.

What sort of software would you guys recommend for this kind of site, with one product like this? I used to just recommend newbies use x-cart, but that seems outdated, especially for what I call a "one-trick-pony" type site with one product. Suggestions are appreciated

Subscription to the site or an on-line product or just a subscription like golf club membership?

If its just a case of requesting a service and paying for it then simply using an email form with a payment processor as the landing page would work. I did that for a simple site and it worked perfectly well. It just takes a little coding (I used static html and javascript) to pass all the parameters to the payment processor.

lets say for example a monthly subscription to online software. not "to the site" exactly (the site will just sell the subscription - then the buyer gets a URL username/password to the software)
