Hi,

Does anyone use a free "real time" analytics website? If so, which "real time" analytics website are you using?

I currently have Google Analytics which is great, but I was looking to see if I could set up my website to have "real time" analytics.

Doing a search online, I was able to find some of the following sites but don't know how good they are: Woopra, Footprint Live, Clicky, etc...?

Thank you,

olimits7

Hi olimits7,

Can't you change the date of Google Analytics to the current date to see real time data? I'm guessing that's not what you mean, but I just wanted to point that out.

You might want to check out hubspot.com - they have some cool services that you could be interested in. Definitely not cheap!

Don't know of any free ones, but IWEBTrack for $40 a month is as close to realtime as I know (about 15 minute delay). Nothing like Google Analytics, but it covers the basics and gives you a fairly good snapshot of what's going on on your site and where traffic is coming from.

I have one client who uses Clicky in addition to Google Analytics. Many years ago I fiddled with a neat interface called VisitorVille - SimCity for Traffic Nerds.

Oh wait, you said Free. Hmmm, I'd be real leery about using anything like this that was free. In fact, I wouldn't touch a free program like this ever - too many strings attached in most instances.

The other primary issue to think about is that third party analytics call. I've seen the Clicky call get delayed and have almost removed the script a couple of times. The client is adamant about keeping it, he can live with the occasional delayed call. I can't! ;)

i use whoson - its not free, but pretty reasonable, i think - you'll need some knowledge to install it - it is real time - lots of fun to watch all the users on your site move around etc.
