Hi

I've been running my website now for nearly 3 years, it's always been doing well, but the last two months have seen a real lapse in sales.

Our traffic isn't too bad, we had 5500 unique vistors last month but it's our conversion rate that's taken a dip.

I didn't know if I could post my site here for you guys to have a look at and point out any big problems, as it's so hard to tell when you know a site so well if there are any silly things people aren't getting when they go to order.

If I can't then any ideas would be great!

Many thanks
MissBird

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

>> I didn't know if I could post my site here

Sorry but nope. :)

It's been a unusual summer for us here in the States (I assume that's where you sell). There are a couple of threads discussing the various things that have happened and how they have affected sales. Namely gas prices [webmasterworld.com] and Katrina [webmasterworld.com].

I'd say don't fret over the slump until after this month. If you don't see sales start to pick up as we get into the holiday season then I'd worry.

I don't know if you have to have a certain number of posts to be allowed too or not, but you can always add your URL to your signature. I wouldn't make a post saying, FIX MY WEBSITE IN MY SIGNATURE, but if it had been there I would have taken a look at it just out of curiosity.

Also note that there is a reason many don't post their websites in their signatures. Some shady people on this board like to copy successful websites, or so I have read.

Ah, OK, thank you.

I have read some of the other posts now, I'll ride it out and keep my fingers crossed for a better October!

Thanks again
