in SEO/Online Marketing, everyone is busy building links for mostly SE rankings (few do it for the traffic the links bring).
However, I recently noticed in some kind of job ad, I came across, that "e-commerce managers" are often required to build and oversee "strategic partnerships with other websites".
It sounded mostly like - link exchanges (but for customers not SE rankings), and/or sharing one another's list/customer base,etc... - in other words: joint ventures.
Is this an important part in e-commerce that many people who are busy building links for SE rankings/too stuck in their SEO worldview (like me;))...completely forget about?
