How should I promote compatible products on a product page?

Hi,

I am building a website that sells 'widgets'.

I though I should also print for each product the list of models that it is compatible with, as that would make it easier for users and will do good for search engines. However sometimes depending on the product a list of 50 models appears and as time passes there will be more models added, you know.

So, I was wondering if you could suggest me what will the best number of models to show and in the temporary end of the list I could put a link for a popup with the rest.

I think too many models all together might look bad to search engines or I am wrong.

Thanks

Welcome to Webmasterworld!

I'd say keep the number small, maybe 2-4. You want to make sure that the focus on your product pages is the "BUY" button. But, upselling more products is also important. I like your idea of linking to the larger list.
