About credit card numbers.

I'm having to try & find a quick solution to taking credit card numbers online for a one time sales event. They'll select a number of items and then it will just show a printable receipt that can be printed.

I'm learning though that there really is no quick & 'cheap' solution. Even a PayPal solution...

Now I just wanted to run it by Webmaster World - is there any other methods besides the obvious like Google Checkout, PayPal, Authorize.net that can be used just for the one time?

Is having people enter their numbers for process in the office considered a suicide mission?

Basically, any alternative suggestion are appreciated.

If I understand correctly, I would say no. Even if you have multiple of multiple orders, you can still hand key all the card #'s.

Well firstly, you need https. Then there is a number of measures you must take to be PCI compliant. Which is a large and expensive project.

Taking credit card numbers on your site is not some little project.

Didn't mean to sound as though it was some little project (as I've been quick to recognize). Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything...
