Hi.

Can anyone help here please?
We have had a site redesign in July, the category pages are listing OK but the product pages are not.
I have checked for duplicate content, have unique product descriptions and now I'm stumped.
The product pages are new since July.
I will let you have the url if you wish to have a quick look for me.

Thanks.
Wayne.

Are these hardgoods or services? I assume we're talking about Google SERPs? What have you done to encourage the SEs to index the new pages?

Hi lorax thanks for your reply. Yes Google serps sorry. I have submitted the sitemap a few times as we change the site frequently. Google hasnt crawled the product pages since July 23rd and this is when we had the manufacturers descriptions, this has since been changed to unique descriptions, perhaps I need to wait longer, I have also speeded up the crawl in webmaster tools, Any ideas please? Thanks Wayne

If you have a lot of pages I'm not surprised though GBot usually touches a few. Check Google's webmaster tools for errors. Also be sure you don't have a nofollow enabled.

it may happen if the nav sections has way too many categories or all of them exposed. Try to make pages more specific where the navigation is more relevant to the page you view (instead of showing all categories).

Another thing to check is with active scripts make sure you use standard HTML links to expose your products. I will never trust js or flash or other scripting methods to exclusively expose the site navigation.

The server logs can also tell you whether or not the bot managed to access the product pages in the past few months (apart of the WMT).

We actually found that by changing Googlebot speed hurt our site, we got spidered less, you might want to look into changing it back.

Hi Bewenched.

Thank you for your reply.

I will try and set this back to the recommended crawl and see what happens.
Strange thing is last week we had 1500 pages in the index, now this week it's down to 101 pages again. The traffic is down 150 a day too.
Its hurting the business, cant understand what is happening at all, all product pages are different with unique content.
