I want to list products that I have in stock on ebay also, but since I am selling on both my online store AND ebay, I am concerned a product might be out of stock and someone buy it on ebay and then leave a negative feedback since I don't have it in stock anymore!

Is it possible to remove a listing in ebay? Or somehow have it display ONLY when there is something in stock?

It's been a while since I did heavy volume eBay selling and they like to change things so you may want to read up a little but yes you can end your listings. The only time it gets tricky is when you are selling the item on auction format and the item has bids.

If you open an eBay shop/store then your listings are much more like managing inventory and things become less complicated - you can also have 30 day listings that renew automatically so if you are planning on listing a large number of items I would look there.

As you mentioned managing stock is going to be the biggest issue here - all it takes is a couple of slip ups and you could find yourself with a bad feedback profile. If at all possible I would increase the amount of stock you hold - even if it is so you have a spare available for said slip ups.

I sell a lot on eBay and you can end the listing early with no problem. The only drawback of that is that you lose the money it cost to list. It wont be a lot though. You may change the stock level as well on each listing.

I do a fixed price listing (and I have a store) so canceling a listing early means I lose 5 cents. I can live with that.

I would use a unique serial number system for your products (just start with AAA001) and put the serial number in custom label. Then when you sell it through another channel, you can just look for the serial number in the list and quickly remove it. Make sure that you don't have auto-relist on or the thing will come back like some sort of zombie listing.
