Unauthorized ACH Transaction

So, just started getting a whole bunch of e-mails with "Unauthorized ACH Transaction" in the subject.

Silly phisher/virus sender- it doesn't work to send it to an e-mail address that isn't associated with any financial accounts.

Another filter for the spam blocker...

What is "it" that doesn't work? Is this a typical phishing scam - click on the link and enter your account info?

I don't think so- I think it's something nastier. The link I saw was to an .exe file and I certainly didn't click on it!

Got it. So there was an executable file waiting for you at the other end of that link. That sounds more like a virus or trojan delivery.

So, just started getting a whole bunch of e-mails with "Unauthorized ACH Transaction" in the subject.

Yes its phishing with variants, coming with amazon, paypal, usps, fedex and plenty of banks layouts and there is a substantial number of such emails coming in recently (I counted a dozen emails in a day just for one account).

They try different things so the user is tricked at some point and click a malware link. Report the emails to ISPs and block the IPs.
