Hi all,
On one site I collect requests from people looking for private teachers.
On another site, a teacher community site, I want to sell the the details of these people looking for teachers.
What would be the best way? The simplest, most efficient way.
I created the site using Joomla, so I thought I could use Virtuemart to sell the details as downloadable products with text files, but now I'm thinking that mac users might have problems reading these files.
How would you go about it?
Thanks

Stepping back from the technical side for a moment, have you stated in your Privacy Policy that you will be selling the names to a 3rd party?

If the text files are standard ASCII text, would Mac users really have problems reading them?

In some jurisdictions you will need explicit consent from each user. Check out local privacy laws very carefully.

Even if explicit consent isn't required it is worth getting and keeping a record as local laws may change. I know that my current employer had a lot of problems on their eCo site when the law changed a requirement from opt-out to opt-in.

These contact details were posted in ads by the people seeking teachers specifically to that purpose. Everything is clearly stated and I made sure I'm not on the wrong side of the law.
Any advice on the best technical way to sell them? Do you think that the download of a text file is the most efficient way?

P.S. @LifeinAsia: are you Korean?

Not Korean (but lived there for 11 years).
