what would you do to control / prevent phishing attacks on your web sites?
how are you going to prevent someone copying your logo etc and sending out millions of emails with false URLs etc?
I get 5-10 notifications every day from our mail server nuking 'PHISHING-BANK'.
As I was writing this actually I discovered that it isn't the anti spam (spamassassin) that gets the phishing emails. It seems phishing emails are taken care of by antivirus (Clam AnitVirus).
You can't control phishing attacks against you but you can educate your users and take action whenever someone finds one. Also give them a simple method to contact you in regards to these types of emails.
It really shouldn't be something you need to worry about unless you are some type of payment processor.
You can't control phishing attacks against you but
What I am surprised at is that with the likes of BIG banks, and PayPal and other big organisations all throwing big money at trying to put these people behind bars, it is proving very difficult.
you shouldn't be surprised at all ..........
the US government has spent $millions chasing bin laden, using armed force, but still haven't found him
paypal / 2CO etc don't have armed forces and unlimited financial resources - how on earth can you expect them to track down and prosecute spammers (plural), who could be anywhere in the world?
