I was just wondering based on your yearly traffic history data; what months have been your traffic peaks and or valleys?
Thank you,

With our store, the traffic/sales are inversely-proportional to the temperature outside. Our biggest month is January, and traffic is dead in August.
The traffic also drops on holidays, when a weather front goes through (major improvement or decline in the weather), or when a major news event happens.

It sounds like the pattern for my site is very similar to jwolthuis. I've had lower than normal traffic the last couple of weeks which is apparently due to nicer weather. I wouldn't mind some rain or snow to boost sales. ;)

Only a few rules. Christmas is the slowest day of the year. All holidays are slow, plus a few days before and after.
April has been our slowest month for the past few years. January is usually very strong (although this past January wasn't good). We do pretty well in August with back to school stuff.
Major news can harm business. Most extreme drop was on 9/11/2001 and for a few WEEKS afterward.

Our products fall into the Gifts category so holiday times peak for us, well a few days before the holidays. That continues during Summer holidays too. But on the actual holidays themselves, when the Postal services are taking a break is our lowest traffic point. Funny though, we tend to get a few orders on Christmas Day.

Mine sells food, oddly starts to build in Jan, peaks in June then dies around mid June, starts to pick in October then dies mid December.
I have no idea why......
Its done this every year for 6 years when I started teh site

My biz has a seasonal aspect to part of it. Every year traffic and sales grow from January to a peak in May, then ratchet down until around July or August. Usually Sept-Dec is pretty quiet for me. I do not see much if any increase around Xmas. Holidays are normally dead for me. No evil eye, this year is better than last, but I am happy to see that a lot of my customers this time of year who typically would be buying my cheapest widgets are instead buying my most expensive widgets. This is what I have been working for, and I just hope it lasts.

The first quarter is the best, the second quarter is the worst, third quarter is third best, fourth quarter is second best. Any week with a long weekend in it is bad, and the gap between Dec 20th and Jan 10th is bad too.
It has been that way for the last 6 years. My theory is that it has something to do with taxes and summer vacations. Who really knows..

No seasonal aspect here ... each month has been bigger than the previous ... we will be open 4 years this July.
