Hello all, i have a question about e-commerce and marketing. Basically im making a site, that takes a certain band and i want to create the largest store dedicated to that band. I am going around finding every item that has to do with this band, and im going to organize it all on one site.

For now, i dont want to have to purchase or hold any of the merchandise, i want to send them to another website like amazon or barnes&noble to make the final purchase, but on my website i'll have all the pictures and complete information about each product. Maybe later if a certain item is selling alot, i'll buy them and ship them myself.

But the question i have is, would it be smart to set up a shopping cart system and fake it? Like i dont want people to think that im selling the products, but i need to find a way to organize this project better. Right now im making multiple tables for each item and saving them as libraries and its a pain in my butt. I cant imagine doing 1000's of products like this. Would it be smart to get a shopping cart? And if so, can someone suggest a good cheap or free one? Thanks

You should spend some time in the Advertising Sales and Affiliate Programs [webmasterworld.com]. There are many ways to show products offered by Amazon and other affiliate based sites without having to use a full fledged shopping cart.
