Hello

Can anyone tell me if UPS has a shipping cost intregration system where I can get almost down to the penny accurate shipping cost for my customers?

My current setup is horrible. I just had an order that needed to be shipped to Hawaii and I lost 40.00 US dollars on shipping cost.

I need something that can come pretty close to industry shipping cost standards.

Can anybody offer me sugguestions?

Thanks!

Using World Ship you will be able to print your own labels and know exactly what the cost is.

Oops - I misunderstood your question.

Yes, there are some scripts out there that use the zone chart to estimate shipping charges. Most are pretty accurate until you get into air shipments (like yours to HI). Whenever we ship to Alaska, Hawaii, etc. the customer is informed that exact shipping will be added to their order prior to shipment. This adds an additional step to our shipment process for these orders, but the time is justified in savings.

JoeCost, do you have the shipping solution right there on site?

I've got UPS ConnectShip and that lets me send and recieve info across the wire with XML.

If you don't have the shipping solition on site go out to UPS and get etools account. You should be able to do this through a web service.
