Canada Custom Brokerage Fees

May I know how can I minimise the custom brokerage fees? Items are shipped by FedEx from Asia.

Am I able to do the clearance myself? If so, what are the procedures and are custom offices easily available?

Thanks much

You are able to clear goods yourself but it depends on how they're shipped. DHL and Fedex will both clear the goods themselves and charge you clearence fees so you don't have the option there.
Goods sent by airfreight, post, or some of the smaller couriers will enable you to go to customs and clear the goods/pay duties yourself.
