Optional postage on PayPal UK orders

Is it possible with the PayPal standard cart?

I'm adding some PayPal UK "Add To Cart" buttons to a club website. I'm using Website Payments Standard with the standard PayPal shopping cart.

The club want people to be able to order items for delivery by post or to be picked up by the customer at the club HQ. So I need a way to make the postage optional.

I can't see a way to do this using Website Payments Standard. A quick search on here suggested two solutions: (a) make postage a separate button, to be optionally added by the customer, and (b) for each item create two separate buttons (and dropdown boxes for selecting item colour or size, etc.): one with and one without postage.

I don't like option (a) because it seems it would be difficult to handle postage costs correctly when the customer orders multiple items. Option (b) is a possibility, but it seems a bit kludgy and will needlessly multiply dropdown boxes.

Are there any other options? Short of investigating third party carts.

I would just have the add postage button with a drop down list of postage charges which you could explain. Make it clear to people that if they don't add the correct postage then they will have to collect the items.

Thanks, I'll try that out.
