Hi there, got a strange email I'm thinking is a scam, but wanted you guys input...

Since when does China care about intellectual property rights? Also, I did a search for the phrase "department of registration service" and turned up a bunch of forums and whatnot with similar emails. Looks like an attempt to get people to buy domains with weird extensions.

Domain scam. None of the domains are .com right? All foreign extensions like .cn. Unless you sell internationally I don't think it's worth your time to worry about them.

There is no thinking involved, it is definately a fraud, and one that has been around for at least two years.
