I know this is a question that comes up a lot - a universal internet marketing question: How do I get more traffic to my website? At this point, I am averaging 30 visits a day and my site has been up for almost fifteen months now.

What I am doing:

SEO - This is something I was behind the mark on for a long time. I didnt really get it in gear until this past October. My sales have been increasing, but my traffic has not. I'm also not sure how often I use update my keywords, etc. Right now, most of my traffic is from search engines.

AdWords - I used the $100 credit from Google slowly ($5/day) but I know it would have taken me much for to get the hang of it. That is on hold now for obvious reasons.

Blogging - I started blogging months before the web store was opened. I know I can write more, but I am still pretty steady. I blog about my products, sales, giveaways, etc.

Forums - I post on a few forums and get some traffic, but hasn't really turned into sales.

Twitter - I have gotten sales though Twitter so that is useful.

Misc. - I have coupon codes on retailmenot.com, I have also guest blogged my products on other blogs.

What am I missing? I know if I posted my URL, I may get some answers and suggestions but I don't want to get flagged for spamming!

The website:

Selling: Retailing natural, organic bath and body products for adults and babies. I retail about seven lines of products.

Shipping: Flat fee shipping is $4.95 and shipping is free for orders over $75.

The most traffic I get is from the keywords "organic baby body wash", but not many sales.

Advice? Tips? Questions?

Celebrity Endorsements. Get some new Hollywood mom to love your products. Works better if it is your own brand.

Is this a purely web based business or do you have a bricks and mortar outlet too? Do you have a street address displayed on your web site?

I am always more comfortable about dealing with a business where I know that I can walk in and complain if necessary.

Thanks for the tip gpilling! Actually some of my products are endorsed my celebrities, but I havent put that info on my site...

Piatkow - its purely web based. No brick & mortar (the whole point of me starting this - low overhead). My address (which is a mailing address) and phone number is displayed on my site. The mailing address is a just that - a postal/shipping place, not an actual store. I work out of my home so I would never put my home address on the sit.

Make some instructional videos using the products.

Use heat map software to see how well your design is doing. This can help you find ways to improve your design to increase sales. This does not cost very much.

Are you using goal tracking in analytics. Set up a sales funnel to see where people might be dropping out.

You can always improve with seo. Work toward getting more links.

Product feeds to sites like Google, Amazon, Shop, etc...or any one that you can find that will take a feed. That will net you a good bit of traffic and sales. Most of those are usually free with some asking for a percentage.

I do use Google Base already. I've tried Amazon, but it was fairly expensive with no return. Havent tried Shop.com yet...

I am also using Analytics (that's how I know what's going on now) and constantly working on SEO.
