"build a bundle" products VS "a bunch pre made bundles"

I guess I wont post a link to the site since it appears to be against the rules (even though Im not using the correct dns yet) but generally, does anyone have experience with "build a bundle" / user compilation products VS "a bunch pre made bundles" on offer.

In this case, the user could - build a bundle (add DVDs and get 15% off for each addition)and the pages works kind of like a computer configurater page - or we could offer ready made bundles possible more of an impulse buy with no effort to user..

I suppose it depends upon how savvy the buyers are. Many people like to be offered a bundle simply because they're too lazy/tired/burnt to be bothered with creating one themselves. Even if you offered a "starter" or "suggested" bundle then I think you'd be headed in the right direction.
