I decided to buy some product from a Chinese factory, 1.1 cubic meter 313kgs of cargo. It's shipping by boat to the US. The Agent is asking for $55 handling charge, $85 entree fee, and $671 destination delivery charge (ddc). Does the ddc charge sound high? I'm new to this but it seems like this is outrageous. By the time other fees are added it might be over $1000 to ship $3400 worth of product. Any advise where I can look for more info on importing would be appreciated.
