I "link out" to the order page of 2checkout by means of a simple redirect so that I can track visitors that are starting the order process.
These are my stats for one campaign with a single page, sales page type site selling an e-book.

PPC referred visitors.

Visitors: 835
Started checkout: 25
Orders: 2

It seems that only less 10% of people who click the order button actually finish the order.
I would expect it to be around 40-50%, but not 8%.
I'm disclosing the price and all details up front, so there shouldn't be any surprises at the checkout.

For another test of the same e-book, but promoted to my subsribers i got the following stats.

Visitors: 591
Started checkout: 68
Orders: 21

That's 30% for a really-really-really hot and targeted list of people who have been expecting this e-book. So for those prospects, I would expect around 70% to finish the order.

Does anyone have any data for 2checkout?
In the first case, 92% abandonment can't be right.
I'm not talking about a shopping cart, that's a single product site with one huge order button :)

There seems to be more bad things about 2CO than the good things they offer. May be my expectations have gone up and they are not able to satisfy it. Anyway, I suggest you to take a chance to try another money processing company. There has always been some complain from customers about how 2CO is integrated into my system, and I have yet to find out why.

If you read their Terms at signup you"ll notice they write "we may change the price or resell your same product for themselves"...

"we may change the price or resell your same product for themselves"

Do they also mention how much trouble my lawyers can cause if they do that? That can't be what they say.
