When I get a PayPal sale, sometimes in the email subject I get
"Payment received from ________"
and sometimes I get
"Notification of payment received"
This is not a real problem, but I am just curious about this and am wondering why PayPal does not send a standard notification email. Any thoughts?

Possibly depends on how the payment was funded (credit card or PayPal balance)?

Paypal has so many ways to process payments... It depends on how the customer interacted with PayPal as well as how they funded the payment.
The emails for people who pay from an eBay Invoice looks different than the ones who logged into their accounts and manually sent a payment. Then there is Website Payments Pro, Virtual Terminal, PP Invoicing, PayFlow, etc
