I called today to request if they could supply any sample code for MPI and was told that they can't and that to write it myself I would need a Software Development Kit (SDK). I was advised that Barclays could sell me one for 200 pounds or I could source my own from a third party. Unfortunately they representative I was speaking to could elaborate any further than that.
Does anybody know where I get the SDK from other than Barclays? Is the SDK even necessary? I've tried to get the low-down on EPDQ MPI prior to making a commitment to purchase it, but I haven't been able to find out a great deal. My site is PHP driven and I need to know how tricky the coding will be. I might have to outsource which will obviously increase my overall costs.

I can confirm that the information you've been given is not accurate. The easiest method of ePDQ MPI integration is via the XML route, which doesn't require any kind of SDK.
Since you're coding in PHP, XML parsing shouldn't be a problem for you, and in fact - I believe I have a few code examples you could look at.
Integrating 3D-Secure alongside your payment processing engine may require the use of one of our SDKs, but there would be no charge for this, and we have a dedicated technical helpdesk that can give you assistance at any stage of integration of either the MPI payment processing solution itself, or the 3D-Secure authentication module.
