I need to provide a way for web visitors to register online for an event, AND pay for it using PayPal or Google Checkout.
Site visitor would click on the event registration link, complete a form with personal info, number of people registering, etc. Click submit, get redirected to payment processor of their choice, and after they pay, get an email detailing their registration.
A HUGE plus would be a back-end system that captures the registration data to be able to manage registrations online. But at this point, I'd be happy with something that would just allow the online registration and payment.
It seems to me using a shopping cart for this is sort of the wrong tool, but I really can't seem to find the "right" tool for this.
Any suggestions appreciated.
I'd suggest you either locate a form script that will allow you to build forms (for registration - and preferably capture that data) or you hire a custom programmer to build it for you.
The payment should be the easy part and I agree - you don't need a full blown ecomm cart to do this.
