Say your goal is to have an actual online business (or being able to sell an affiliate product) instead of merely monetizing your site through the use of ads.
Is going niche very important to be able to actually make sales/have an acceptable conversion rate?
I've always been aware of the fact that getting into a niche instead of the broad market makes rankings in the SE's easier, but does it also make selling a product much easier as opposed to having a generalistic site (or an affiliate product which solves a need you talk about on your site)?
thanks!
PS: I hope this won't be seen as a double post, as I already made another post on "going niche" in the keyword forum; but only the title is similar.
To be able to target broad market successfully, one must have enough resources. By not being niche specific, one might face more hardships from marketing point of view rather than technical (SE rankings etc).
