Anyone have a drastic drop in sales this month?

June has been a bomb for me this year.

I am absolutely stunned. It is June 7th and only 2 orders came in since the 1st of the month.

I am very worried. However, my webstats are normal and people email me with questions once or twice a day (a good sign).

Has anyone else also experience a drastic decline in sales this month?

I don't get it. I even had $1 shipping on all orders this week!

Business was booming the last three weeks of May all the way up to the 31st! :(

Hard to say what this can mean without more data. If you receive one order daily in average this could still be within statistics.

We have all seen it in one or the other way. Suddenly a drop in orders - and then a return to normal after a few days - and the other way round - suddenly a drastic increase and then a return to normal. Simple statistical fluctuations.

However even this statistical fluctuations stay within certain limits. If you usually get 5 or 10 orders daily and drop to two in a week you are in serious trouble.

Among the things you should check:

- holidays or school vacations?
For example where I live, this and last week schools are closed in the whole country and many familiys are away on vacation.

- new competitors with better prices or service?

- website not working properly on all browsers and systems? Perhaps broken links which some browsers auto-correct and some not?

- made any changes on your website that might have affected usability?

- ranking in major search engines dropped?

I usually get 1 to 4 orders a day. Even in these bad economic times I average 50 to 60 orders per month.

The school vacation may be the reason, however, same time last year I was still doing good business.

I am cashing in my remaining IRA account Monday so I can pay my quarterly taxes and pay off the credit card. :(

DarrenN have you gone through the complete order process and made sure there wasn't any issues?
Checked to make sure SS certificate is ok this sounds like a site issue to me.

Call a freind ask them to go through the order process as well as their CC to make sure all is working, if they don't want the card processed they can always put the incorrect CVV or card date to get a decline.

Have someone else do it to make sure the site is ok.

I have the paypal shopping cart. Three orders came in today so I know everything works alright.

June is so far somewhat slow..I attribute it to unseasonably cool, rainy weather in the north/northeast which doesn't provide any motivation for people to buy...
