Paypal sends wrong ( misprinted ) check

The bank returns paypal check .. and paypal isnt responding.

This is a clasic case of carelessness.

Paypal has send me a check in my home country . And the date on the check mentiones the year as '20055' instead of year '2005' . A classic misprinting error i guess.

The amount is major for me and i have written back to paypal, without any response what so ever as yet.

My bank has refused to validate the cheque.
My trust in paypal is now shaking.

Anyone has any suggestions? Has ayone faced any such problem? how do we get support?

Paypal likes to be a law unto itself and treat customers like ****.

Never had this problem with Pay Pal;however, I'd be as upset with my bank. I think there is a law that even if a check is postdated it can be cashed as soon as it is deposited. (It might just be a state law that I heard that about) I'd try an atm deposit with the check and see if it goes through. Good Luck.

I hear all kinds of crap about PayPal that's simply ancient history, the company is now owned by Ebay and is not some fly by night outfit. I've used them from day one
and have never, ever had a problem.

Try depositing the check into an ATM.

The people that process ATM deposits, are alot more forgiving (or just don't care) than Bank Tellers, who will scrutinize every check.

You'd have to check your countries laws on the matter, but I'm pretty sure Joe is right - you should be able to cash it straight away. I'd go that route, because dealing with Paypal over the matter is likely to be a long, fruitless process.
