hi,
can anyone confirm that the E.U has raised the limit for importing products (e.g online shopping from the U.S)from 22 euros to 150 euros without paying duties. I understand that you might have to pay vat but no duties.
i found the info here please let me know if i understood correctly
thanks

At the moment of European cuurency integration 1 Ecu was deemed to be equal to 1€ in all European states ( whether members of the monetary union or not )

UK treasury press office ref [hm-treasury.gov.uk]

So if article 27 as mentioned in the list of ammendments changes from 22 ECU to 150€ then that would make the answer ..yes

BTW .remember the VAT you pay is on the total price of the goods ( with any import duties that may apply ) and their shipping and handling ..

phone ( If you are in the UK ..HM customs and ask them ..they are usually extremely helpfull even for small matters )
