Firstly, I need to say that I am viewing everything on mac platform from three separate machines and each machine behaves the same way. I am using Safari and FireFox.
The main issue is:
1. Items chosen after the "add to cart" button is pressed are not included in the cart; A message "Your Cart Is Empty" follows
2. Other times when the same button is pressed the page 'freezes' and the visitor cannot proceed.
3. On the registration page an error occurs creating a false redirect to the home page.
4. There are a few smaller issues which I won't mention until support has had a fair chance to address them
I will hasten to add that I did test the carts functionality with the demo and everything was ok then.
"Time is money" as they say and this is all becoming very frustrating and it's costing me money as I have already warmed up potential visitors telling them there will be a new shopping cart available for the sale of my products.
The problem is to research, find and test another cart is also time intensive.
This is not meant to be a vent all about xcart post, however If I could ascertain whether or not these are common or fixable issues I can just move on to the next step and look for another cart.
My intent here was to establish if anyone else has ever encountered the same problem and if so find out whether there exist any workarounds. Judging by the lack of responses, I guess I'm the only member of WebmasterWorld who has ever encountered this issue.
