Any international e-commerce small business projects

Hello, guys,

I wonder if there are here any merchants who reside outside the USA/ UK/ Canada and run successful e-commerce sites selling some tangible (opposite to downloadable) products to the global market? I do not talk about some homemade craftsman products that are sold a few pieces per year. I talk about online stores with the volume of 50K and over per month.

Is international e-commerce for small business real? Do you happen to know some online resources on this topic?

Well . . . I think I have heard of some. Though I don't remember if they are as huge as the one you mentioned.

Reliability really matters, if you want to have one of those.

Sort of interesting, I did this for a while. In my opinion no matter what you offer internationally you have to tailor the product or service to fit certain areas in the world. Otherwise the product or service end up boring or not corresponding to some people.

If I started an Ecommerce site selling internationally I would split the store in to different geographical areas. For example one for North America, Europe, Asia and so on.

You notice this if you take a look att successful E commerce sites such as Amazon (which has a couple of versions of the website depending on country) also Ebay uses this kind of system.

And Chinese Taobao. Another ecommerce site you can not ignore.
