Explain Paypal transfers from/to bank.

Different timing from paying and to upload founds.

I have a paypal account with some credit cards and a bank savings account.
Usually, when I want to pay anything, the default founding source is the bank account. If I leave it, they will deliver an instant transfer from my bank account to the merchant.

But, why, if I want to "load" my account with my bank money, the same bank, it takes 3-4 days!?

What's the difference!?

The "instant transfer" is backed by your credit card which allows it to be instant. Whether you add or withdraw, the transfer time is the same.

But if the money reaches the merchant same day ... does it mean, paypal "escrows" the payment, then?
