Hi,

I was just wondering, all these forms of discounts to an order either discount coupons, payment on account, or points redemmed should be applied to the sub-total price excluding shipping costs and taxes; right?

I think this is the best way to handle these discount, but just want to confirm that this is the proper way to do it.

Thank you,

It depends on the type of traffic you are receiving and the type of traffic you want to repeat.

In general a discount coupon applies to merchandise only.

Points are a good way to offer free shipping (repeat business)

Tax is tax. If you have to collect it, then you have to pay it. It's a pass through.
