Hi,

I was looking at the SMS advertising that can be done on chacha, and it looks like a good idea to get targeted advertising for my website.

1. Has anyone had any experience advertising with ChaCha or any other SMS advertising method?

2. Did you see an increase in sales after using them?

Thank you,

I live in Thailand. Thai people are the perfect dream for the advertising industry i.e. they are glued to their televisions, have mobile phones glued to their ears... and crucially, believe anything they see or read.

Me and my wife have cellphones on one of the two big networks here. We are constantly getting bombarded with SMS spam, or automated calls that play a recorded promo messages. It's infuriating. Not only does it make us NEVER EVER want to spend any money with the advertiser... it also makes us want to drop the network altogether for failing to stop SMS spam. The only thing stopping us is the fact that the other network is just as bad.

SMS spam is intrusive and beyond irritating... but go for it if your audience is right.

Thank you for your reply!

I was thinking the same thing; I don't want to bombard potential customers with SMS messages.

But the reason I like the way ChaCha does it; is they only send an SMS advertisement message only when the person texts ChaCha a question first. So the person doesn't get bombarded with SMS advertising...
