GST tax in Canada is currently 5%. 13% in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

If you ship on average 20 packages a day or more to Canada by Fedex, ask them about the Direct Distribution Model. This is a method where all of your shipments are consolidated into 1 customs form and shipped into Winnipeg at no Province fee to the customer. It is then distributed out to the individual Provinces at no fee. No fee for Province to Province. You will also get discounted pricing by using the Direct model. They do charge an advancement fee of $10/package that can be waived if you set-up your account under a Credit card. You would send everything by air, International Economy not Priority which is more expensive. There are no other brokerage fees involved because they are included in the shipping fee. I would also recommend negotiating a pricing structure. Either by an RFP or with the account rep. Anything can be negotiated!
