Where to use good content on an Ecommerce site

Hi All,
I want to ask the forum about a possible ecommerce website that I am going to build. The problem is I have to include lots of articles in the ecommerce website so that the website will get traffic from SE for long tails in my niche.

My question is where do I put these articles? Do I create a /blog area in my website and provide a link to products I am talking about? what has worked for you?

That's a complicated question.

Some visitors will find your site by landing directly onto your products' pages -- it should be good to include there links to articles that are relevant to this product only. This would show people you're expert on this product.

Some visitors will land onto your site articles' pages. That should be good to have links to relevant products inside article's text. However, some visitors might not notice the links there -- you have to put relevant products' images somewhere near the text.

Some visitors will land onto your website on some other pages -- make sure there are links to product categories/articles as well.
