How to tell which shopping cart a site is using.

I've looked at source code of a few "free trial offers" and I was wondering if there is a way to see what cart the sites are using. I've looked at the source code and inserted snippets of the code into a search engine, but so far no luck.

Is there any easy way to tell which cart sites use, besides the blatant "powered by blah blah"?

I would look at the URL structure, unless the store is using a rewrite of some sort, most software has their own default naming conventions.

You could always just ask. A nice email goes a long way...
