Is anyone using this feature on an ecommerce site?

I'm tempted as my products might sell better with an audio explaination, but I don't want the site to appear gimicky.

Be cautious of trying this, instead live chat support is far better and would help in improving bussiness.

site pal.. this thing is horrid, Who in the right mind wants to hear a computer generated "interactive" voice tlak to them? I guess someone new to the interent and not savy would find it nice, but I believe it hinders conversion.

Instead of a customer wanting to check out they listen to site pal and distract themselves from spending money. I personally think that if you are selling anything that takes 1/2 a brain to use, NOT TO USE THIS PRODUCT.

On the other hand if your demographic of customer is unsophisticated, this might be a quick way to grab their attention.

I peronsally think its tacky, but what do I know..

Automated voice are good to hear them the first time. But they will be quite boring to your customers coming to buy again.

So think about all of your customers.

I think it would be a right option if you forget this for a while too long.
although it does make some tasks easy but simply it doesn't work too positively in your favour.

I tested SitePal two months ago. It was great for grabbing attention, as the click-thru rate for any of my advertising that used SitePal was averaging 44%. Once the user clicked thru, however, it was obvious that SitePal became an obstacle, as in each of my test ads I had 0% conversion.
