How do you decide which items you should sell?

It has been quite some time since I started an ecommerce website. I am building up another as I found this area very very interesting. I wonder how people decide to sell one item and leave the other.

How do you decide?

Availability of items?

Do I like the product range?

can I deal with the people selling me the gear?

Is there much competition?

How easy will it be to get a good position on the Se's?

Is it going to be profitable?

can i have next day delivery of my wholesale order?

After that its pretty easy to do business with them.
