"So now they feel they need to send an e-mail out every day of the week to touch their customers before their competitors do.”

"According to Internet Retailer’s survey of 174 web-only retailers, chain retailers, catalogers and consumer brand manufacturers, 55.7% send 1 to 3 e-mail marketing campaigns every month. 20.7% send 4 to 5, 12.1% send 6 to 8, 5.7% send 9 to 10, 3.4% send 11 to 15, 0.6% send 16 to 20 and 1.7% send more than 20."

Well, that's interesting.

I have removed myself from most campaigns that are too frequent. Too frequent in my mind might be entirely different to someone else's view.

I usually let my address be added simply to see what others are doing. I've only purchased an item due to an email maybe, maybe, twice. Not sure if I've even been spurred on once. I think I may have bought concert tickets because of an email; but only because I would have purchased the tickets online regardless, but the email provided a convenient link. Most sites send emails too often for my tastes.

Agreed. Ever signed up for Amazon or Overstock? It gets annoying with the quickness.

I'd be curious to know how often WW retailers are sending out their newsletters. We average only one per month per store but are thinking about bumping this up to two to keep our brand fresh in our customer's minds as the holiday season ramps up.
