Hello,

What i'd like to do is let third parties
store their contracts(scans of them) on my system.

What i must do to make it legal?

I just love short questions from first-timers that require long replies that attempt to pry necessary details from the poster.

Ascertaining whether something is "legal" requires knowing at bare minimum where you and your customers are located. USA, UK, Nigeria? If USA, the answer might vary by state.

I suppose someone here MIGHT take a stab at answering your question if you expand the details to about 1,000 words.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld batto,
Your question is a legal issue that we simply cannot answer. Your best answer will come from an attorney or someone who specializes in intellectual property law.

The answer to your question is also going to depend on the field(s) of the companies storing contracts on your site. Legal issues for Joe's Widgets are completely different from Dr. Bob's Health Clinic or Jane's Paralegal Services.

Lorax Thank for warm welcome :)

LifeinAsia, thats a good thought i will consider this.

As for the topic. I digged more and found that
"Data privacy is not highly legislated or regulated in the U.S.
,while country i came from has strict legislation on this topic.

I thought that in USA there is some Act or Institution that check how personal informations are stored, and if these info is kept secure, and only closest i found was "California Online Privacy Protection Act "

Tell me if i'm wrong, but besides California if you store personal informations online no one checks if its stored securely?
