I'm interested in selling mp3s online, or worst case an affiliate store such as astore.

1. What are the laws pertaining to using a sample of a track (e.g. 20 second clip like on amazon)

2. Do you have to sell using DRM?

3. Does anyone know of a dropship-like / white label MP3 service?

1. We have a customer that is selling music online, and we are not aware of any limits pertaining to samples. Are you talking about preserving your copyright rights?

2. This customer is selling on his own site, without DRM, and with previews set to 30 seconds. Nobody is requiring him to sell with DRM.

3. We investigated several "just do it for me" services and the bottom line is "yes they are there" but its all very expensive. The way you (the musician) make money is by taking the risk and printing/pressing a batch up and getting the break on the quantity.

Cheers and good luck!

Greg.
