Accepting cc payments using hosts shared ssl?

The technology of using a shared SSL is (in theory) perfectly safe. The issues with shared SSLs have more to do with marketing, branding, and user perception.

I use my host cart and ss certificate on my smaller sites and it is fine but as Lorax pointed out if the customer checks the ss certificate the name is in the host and not in the domain and this does send some away but many don't look.
