Hi,

I live in Sweden and have been looking around forever for a suitable solution to accept payments on my new site.

3rd part processors like 2checkout or WorldPay have fees that simply are too high and I'm not sure they're a good choice considering the transaction volume I'm expecting.

Payment gateways requires merchant accounts and it's pretty much impossible for a non-us based company to get a US merchant account.

There are no Swedish payment gateways that have the features I'm looking for. The european payment processors/gateways I've found don't support merchant accounts in Sweden.

Is a 3rd party processor my only option? It doesn't look better than that. I'd appreciate your advice.

Fees are part of the cost of doing business. I see many international businesses offer WorldPay. There's always Paypal...

In general, you must first build up a good transaction volume using WorldPay, 2Checkout or PayPal, all of whom will deal with you based in Sweden without any problem. Once you have this volume, you should find that cheaper deals are available on application both from the same people and from your business banking in Sweden.

Screw credit cards, accept only bank-transfers.
