Ive been using paypal for a long time now however a company im doing work with is requesting ikobo.. is this a quality service? transactions are only a few 100 at a time im just concerned about my creditcard info. thanks for the help

Ikobo is as good as other service

but i doubt there alert service...you wont get instant email from them when you get payment and there was problem some time back with them in processing mastercard...so its good for visa processing but there facility to withdraw money using atm card is just great

From what I know, Ikobo is run by 1 person who posts regularly at a Paypal hate site.

As an iKobo user, I can say that it is most definitely not run by one person. They may post at a PayPal hate site, though. I don't know.

What I can say is I find the service extremely annoying. The software is very very buggy. You might not be able to transfer $1000 even though they claim you have a $2000 limit. Yet you can transfer $500 twice in rapid succession without problem. That's just one example of many. I've wasted many hours in chats with their help folks.

With that said, I've used remit2india for a payment to India and found them far far worse. I've used PayPal without any undue snags, but only some countries can sign up.

I don't know what that means - but in looking at their site, they're a bit shy at wanting to tell you what their fees are - which is never a good sign.........

All I know is the owner posts spams (as well as tens of other similar site owners) on the paypal hate site all the time. I guess they may have hired a few employees over the past year. Their site used to be using the same infamous website script that spawned hundreds of other similar websites on ebay.

Anyone interested in personal experience with iKobo?

A software supplier recommended iKobo as PayPal doesn't like South African cards any longer.
What a pain!

Mentioned numbers :-
Rates $5.00 + 3% of transfer amount.

Unmentioned charges :-

Delivery of the piece of plastic to handle withdrawal from real-world ATM ... a nice touch but choose from additional $2 or $10 for delivery.

First time payment per card ... ah yes, now you've specified the amount to be transferred, go back to your CC company and tell us about the "little amount" we've taken off your card ... around $8 additional.

Try to contact someone via email - no addresses, so guessing ...

Right now I'm more than a little concerned.
I'll return to tell you whether the promised little piece of plastic ever gets to the recipient - and whether it works or not.!

I have my reasons to consider MB as a very unreliable company. Also I think that paypal's security system is a disaster where the number of unhappy merchants is increasing exponentially and as far as I know there are quite a few law suits going on as we speak. They really have to get a grip and really do something about it. On the other hand, ikobo is doing all right in my opinion because even if there are unhappy customers who would like a lighter security system, the majority remains protected and this is what that counts the most in this industry. Ikobo was slow on the customer support part but they made some improvements using a live chat support service system. SAFETY ABOVE ALL I SAY. Just my 2 cents ...

I am living in E Europe and I must say that many companies make salary payments using ikobo and I think its also used by immigrants who send money to their home families.
It happens that I own that plastic VISA debit card called simply ikard. It came almost immediately (considering the distance, it took aprox 5 days to arrive) after I got some money into my account and it's working on any ATM with visa plus sign on it. I am using ikobo for more than one year and I never had problems getting my salary (I work for different foreign companies). This is my ikobo short story...
