New to payment processing - recommendations needed!

Hi everyone!

I've designed a lot of websites in the past, but have not had the need to take any type of payment - until now!

What I'm looking for is a payment processor that meets the following criteria, and would be really grateful if anyone could make some recommendations of which companies to look at..

1. They must offer the complete package (ie we don't have an internet merchant account, so we're looking for someone who takes payment and then makes payouts every so often)

2. Need it to look seamless - we have no problem with customers being transferred to the payment processors secure website, but we would like the payment page(s) to be customisable so they look the same as our website (basically we don't want it to be overly obvious to the customer that they have left our site, apart from the page address)

3. Preferably no monthly/yearly fees - there will be a small number of low value transactions to begin with, and although this will hopefully grow over time, we'd prefer slightly higher fees per transaction, instead of a set monthly fee and lower transaction fees.

4. Accepts payments in GBP, because we're in the UK. We're not looking at accepting other currencies.

If anyone has any recommendations I'd be really grateful - I've been looking through past posts on these forums and checking out some companies, but it's hard to tell with some of them just how much you can customise the payment pages to match your website, which is quite important for us.

If we're asking too much, then it would also be useful to know, so that we can have a rethink!

Thanks for your help,

Chris

i think you are asking too much!

number 2 is the stumbling block i think ... those that i've looked at, have given the choice of a limited color scheme (font colour, background colour) and using your logo - however, you have no choice over position of logo and so on.

Well I really do not know what you are selling so hard for me to advise, what I can say is that it might be worth your while to look at the OneTouch Online Purchasing™ payment solution, it does meet some of your criteria...

Secure Hosting enable you to create your own custom payment page. When someone pays, they never leave your site. Their API is very easy to use too.

For UK only processing Nochex looks like a possibility although there are some serious limitations on transaction sizes and volumes if you don't want to pay any up front fees.

Thanks for the replies - I thought we were probably asking a bit much, but it was worth finding out! I'll take a look at the options mentioned and see what can be done.

Thanks again
