SSL Certificate: Need Dedicated for your own SSL Cert?

If I purchase my own SSL Certificate from GoDaddy, do I need to have my own dedicated server for this to work? Or can I use my own SSL Certificate on a shared, or virtual hosting plan?

You'll need your own unique IP address for SSL hosting. You could, but don't need to run your own server for this; unless you need a dedicated server it would probably be more practical to find a shared hosting provider which offers a unique IP as an additional service.
